Lanette Tippins

Lanette Tippins, LCSW, serves as the Practice Administrator for Southern Family Medicine and has been an integral part of the practice since joining the team in January 2015. Originally from Clarksville, Tennessee, Lanette earned her degree from Union University in Jackson, Tennessee with a major in Social Work and minors in Special Education and American Sign Language. Before relocating to Georgia, she worked with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Clarksville, where she developed a passion for serving children and families within her community. After moving to Georgia, Lanette worked at Pineland Mental Health, where she provided counseling services, medication management support, and on-call emergency department psychiatric evaluations.

Lanette began her career at Southern Family Medicine as Dr. Thomas J. Miller Jr.’s medical scribe and was promoted to Office Manager in May 2016. In 2020, she was further promoted to Practice Administrator, where she now oversees human resources, clinical compliance, employee training, and the day-to-day operations of the Claxton office. She also plays a key leadership role in onboarding and training new employees across both Southern Family Medicine locations. Her passion for organization, patient care, and team development has helped shape the growth and culture of the practice.

In addition to her leadership role within Southern Family Medicine, Lanette serves as the Claxton office Research Coordinator for the Medical College of Georgia’s HamesNet rural healthcare blood pressure study and was recently selected to serve on the HamesNet Steering Committee Board. She also serves as the KidsABC Champion and liaison for Southern Family Medicine’s collaboration with Mercer University’s KidsABC program. Outside of work, Lanette enjoys spending time with her husband, Jordy, and their son, Jordy Jr., who attends Pinewood Christian Academy. Together, they proudly call Claxton, Georgia home.
